Did you miss me? It has been a quiet year, given the time spent indoors, due to lockdowns. Getting to the end of our second year participating in a major historical event, I’m tired but aren’t we all? I have a little more reason to be tired however, having had a heart attack in July. Just three days after my second Pfizer shot, I developed myocarditis and have been recovering since then. Even now I am still medicated for it. Now heart medications are no fun to be on, and they put weight on you, not very helpful to those with a heart condition right? My heart isn’t damaged but it still has to get better.
You know when I think about how the heart attack felt, it still doesn’t seem like it was what is was. We’ve all read/seen things about heart attack symptoms, and think we know what we’re looking for. I was expecting my arm to hurt and to have a clenching pain in my heart. But what happened was my heart took off like a humming bird and felt pain in my throat and shoulder blade. My smart watch clocked my heart at 230 beats a minute and climbing, before I couldn’t really focus on it anymore. I managed to call myself an ambulance, and my husband, all while my heart buzzed along so hard fast I thought it was going to pop. Even now, months on I’m still getting palpitations, and every time it frightens me.
I spent a few weeks recovering and then managed to reopen my store, then lockdown Mark II or III or IV, I don’t know what number we’re up to now, started a week later. So yay more rest I guess. You can probably tell from my tone, I’m 100% done with this year and we are not even done yet.
Side topic, I am still very much for getting your vaccinations and despite what happened to me, I still took my children in to have their shots. We watch them damn closely afterwards that’s for sure.
Tune in later for what I’m sure will be much more pleasant reading/viewing. Until then, mask up, call your mates, eat the donut.

I’d been shipped to a bigger hospital and I was alive.
