Years ago I had a walk in pantry, and I have never forgotten how wonderful having such a space is. Especially with a large family that requires copious amounts of supplies. Seriously, our grocery shopping always looks like we are pandemic hoarders. I need another one.
Off the end of the skinny gallery style kitchen in this fixer upper of ours, is what we presume was the beginnings of the previous owners desire to have a pantry. It consisted of a repurposed kitchen cabinet and a shelf that had been fixed to the middle of the window (which meant you were never opening it).

So we pulled it all out, including the floor covering, and discovered tiles below. So far in this house we figure the bathroom has been moved twice and the kitchen maybe three times, just based on the different floor types we are finding in unexpected places.

The window had to come out. It was the old school kind with ropes and weights, plus it had had it.

We replaced the window with a fixed panel frosted one, as the view out this window is particularly crappy.

And shelving done. Just skirting and painting to go and we’re pandemic hoarding ready!
