Purple people, right? Those that dare to flare, and do it everywhere. You all know someone. Everything they own is purple, all their clothes, towels, their hair, a car if they can, their nails, everything about them is purple. Even the home they live in.
Purple, all of the things must be purple.
Don’t take this as a diss to the purple people, in fact I envy their ability to dazzle without care. My only problem is decorating a house once it has been occupied by a purple lover. I am renovating a former purple lovers home.
We have started by putting in a second bathroom and laundry, so we have a bathroom to use when the main one is pulled out. The room the laundry is in is very spacious and only a third of the room is used for the laundry, so it will be ideal to fit out with a shower and toilet as well. This fit out required entirely new drainage to be put through, which meant, oh tragedy, the purple tiles had to come up.
Behold the before shot (below), complete with eggplant feature wall, giant window next to tiny window, stained glass folding door and sink that wasn’t properly plumbed in. It’s important to remember when fitting out any laundry, to get the purple feature wall done before putting the drainage in, right?
And so it began, out it all comes. Look at that teeny light!

Out came the windows, and replaced with a long skinny frosted one. White giant 60cm subway tiles all the way to the ceiling, which helps light the room as this is not a sunny side of the house. Wiring for heated towel racks went in, for getting things dry on damp days, and an in wall nook for the walk around shower (for accessibility). Plus new lighting and plumbing of course.

Taadaaahhh! All done! Complete with my sporty black washing machine. The room turned out brighter than we thought it would, which is great as that side of the house is very shady. It is super easy to clean too.
Now on to the main bathroom, hands up who loves pink and brown together?
